Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field required.

Certification from a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT) is required.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and relevant software is an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Receive and process patient specimens, ensuring proper labelling and handling.

Perform routine and specialized tests on blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids using automated and manual techniques.

Interpret and validate test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

Provide detailed and clear documentation of test procedures and results.

Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.

Monitor inventory levels of laboratory supplies and reagents.

Participate in laboratory inspections and accreditation processes, preparing necessary documentation and reports.

Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.

Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to laboratory services in a timely manner.

Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and methodologies through continuing education and professional development.

Are you a master's student enrolled in a CARIFORUM or Francophone Caribbean University who is passionate about biodiversity conservation?

The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) is accepting submissions for an internship program under its Caribbean Regional Architecture for Biodiversity (CRAB) Project funded by the French Agency for Development (AFD) and the French Global Environmental Facility (FFEM).

Two (2) Internships will be awarded to a master's student enrolled at a CARIFORUM University and a Francophone Caribbean University. These interns will work directly with CBF's 10 partner National Conservation Trust Funds (NCTFs) that receive support and funding from the CBF to manage and protect biodiversity in their individual countries.

The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) seeks a dynamic and experienced Chief Finance Officer (CFO) with a proven record of success in leading financial management within virtual or decentralized organizations, with a particular emphasis on Conservation Trust Funds.

The CFO will be part of the senior management and leadership team and oversee the CBF's finance and investment functions, and the delivery of operational improvements, including a clear development plan, financial reporting metrics, and long-term financial plans linked to the CBF's strategic planning. This full-time position will manage a team that is responsible for CBF's Finance, IT, Investment, Procurement and Contract Services.
