SALARY AND ALLOWANCES

Tax free salary at the rate of seventy-five thousand, four hundred and fifty-seven dollars and eight cents ($75,457.08) (Grade15, step I) per annum.

Travel Allowance at the rate of seven thousand, six hundred and twenty dollars ($7,620.00) per annum. (Officer must own and maintain a vehicle in order to receive this allowance).

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED 

Essential :

  • A degree level qualification in Economics, Trade, Business, Finance or a related area.
  • Strong leadership, management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and monitor programmes, events and projects.
  • Knowledge of international trade and quality standards, regulations and agreements.
  • Strong policy formulation and implementation skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the preparation of technical reports and presentations.

  • Innovative and results focused.

Desirable :

  • A postgraduate degree in social sciences, inclusive of trade/trade law or business administration will be an asset 
  • At least five years’ experience at a management level (equivalent of R22-16), and a good understanding of trade and business practices.
  • Strong oral reporting and presentation skills to select and public audiences
  • Industry contacts in key markets such as the US, UK and Caribbean. 
  • Experience in managing relationships with international partners, investors and donors.
  • Experience in private sector development, and / or investment promotion.
  • Ability to supervise, provide feedback, support and develop a team and staff.

The Goal of this Project is to Reduce the Public Health Impact of Pandemics in the Caribbean through Prevention, Preparedness, and Response. The Objective is to support CARPHA in reducing the public health impact of pandemics in the Caribbean Region will serve to build PPR surveillance & EWS, laboratory systems and workforce capacity regionally at CARPHA and at country levels.

The Project comprises the following five components:

  • Component 2: Expansion of Laboratory Systems
  • Component 3: Workforce Development
  • Component 4: Regional Strategic Coordination, Collaboration & Commitment to Pandemic Response
  • Other: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Project Management

The Consultancy is concerned with Component 1 and seeks an individual to function as the Epidemiologist (Visitor-based Surveillance) in the Project Execution Unit of the Project
