Recycle - OECS

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) recognises its vast marine space as a crucial asset for sustainable development but faces challenges from pollution, especially plastics. The Recycle OECS project builds on existing environmental commitments to create a harmonized, adaptable waste management framework across member states. Early successes include Grenada’s tourism sector transformation through private partnerships and Dominica’s Zero Waste Schools Program, engaging 3,000 students. The initiative blends traditional knowledge with innovation, emphasizing institutional strength, sustainable financing, and community involvement. This model showcases the region’s
